Hope for Justice
Almost 16 million children from the ages of 5 to 17 are engaged in child labour in Ethiopia. Many children, especially girls end up as domestic workers and are then trafficked in commercial sex work. In a study by the Population Council (2018) of 2,000 female sex workers in Addis Ababa, as many as 44% were ex-domestic workers. -

The Coroners' Court Support Service
The Radio 4 Charity Appeal has had such a positive impact on our Service. Not just in terms of monetary benefits which raised an amazing £24,791 but it has also helped raise much needed awareness of the emotional support and practical advice our volunteers are able to offer to those attending Inquests. -
Practical Action
Thanks to our Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 4 Appeal, broadcast in January 2021, we raised more than £38,868. Donations made to the appeal will be matched pound for pound by the UK government. -
Ubuntu Pathways
Thank you wholeheartedly to everybody who supported our Radio 4 Appeal to reopen the Ubuntu School in South Africa after the COVID-19 lockdown. With an incredible £32,185 raised from almost 300 donors, we have been able to achieve our goal, and are once again providing a safe and nurturing space everyday to 225 children who are recovering from almost a year of isolation and trauma. -

Jo lost her son, Harry, to malaria after he gave away his antimalarial medication to local children in the village in Ghana where he was volunteering. The money raised in this appeal will go towards ensuring that one day no other parent will needlessly lose their child to this preventable and treatable disease. -
