Pancreatic Cancer Action

Radio 4 Appeal 12 November 2017

Our charity’s key vision is to reach the day when more people will survive than die from pancreatic cancer.

At Pancreatic Cancer Action, we were absolutely astounded with the generosity of over 500 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 listeners who supported our appeal. To date, £34,501 has been raised which will play a huge part in helping with our charity’s key vision – to reach the day when more people will survive than die from pancreatic cancer.

The incredible donations from our Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 Appeal will enable us to fund early diagnosis research projects, launch national symptom awareness campaigns, provide and promote educational courses for primary care professionals, and supply vital information to patients and clinicians.

Not only was the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 Appeal a phenomenal fundraising success, but it also helped us raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and its symptoms among Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 listeners.

Currently only five per cent of patients survive the disease but for those patients who are diagnosed early, and in time for surgery, their chance of surviving increases to 30%.

Pancreatic Cancer Action was founded by Ali Stunt, a ten-year survivor of the disease who proves that there is hope, early diagnosis is achievable, and survival is possible.  We are determined that one day, more people will have the same outcome as Ali.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated, you have ensured that we can continue to save lives by improving early diagnosis of a ‘Cinderella’ cancer that has been chronically underfunded and ignored for far too long.
