John's Posh Kebabs

Find out here how to make John's Friday night fakeaway favourite 'posh' kebabs, for just around £2 a portion!

Here's what you'll need:

  • 200g of oven chips
  • 500g of skinless, boneless chicken thigh fillets
  • 4 tortilla wraps
  • 1 baby gem lettuce, finely sliced
  • 250g Greek style yogurt
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • The juice of ½ a lemon
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • Sea salt
  • Olive oil
  • Sriracha

Or for a veggie option, switch the chicken to:

  • 500g of portobello mushrooms

And here's how you make it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C fan. Chuck the chips into a roasting tray. Add the olive oil and toss together.
  2. Put the chicken, 50g of the yogurt, garlic, lemon, turmeric and a pinch of salt into a bowl and mix well. Arrange onto a grilling rack and pop this over the chips.
  3. Place into the hot oven and roast for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is charred and tender and the chips lovely and soft, with a few crispy bits.
  4. If you're opting for mushrooms, pop the chips in the oven first, then about 10 minutes in, lay your mushrooms on top and give it a further 15-20 minutes.
  5. Then remove from the oven and slice up the chicken or mushrooms.
  6. Spread the remaining yogurt over the flatbreads and top with the chicken and chips. Scatter over the lettuce and chilli sauce if using. Roll up and tuck in.
