Ed Sheeran - Castle On The Hill (Live)

Ed Sheeran gives us this exclusive, FIRST EVER live performance of Castle on the Hill.

A house party at ’s: the stuff that bucket lists are made of, surely? Well, got one step closer when Ed appeared on his show on Thursday night, and chose his ultimate Party Playlist.

While running through his tracks, Ed also let MistaJam in on the secrets of a Sheeran house party, ale on tap and all. Here’s what to expect if he ever invites you round...

There won’t be any fancy canapés

Thought all your favourite celebs spent parties munching caviar and lobster? Not Ed. His party food abilities stretch to “pizza, maybe. Crisps. Minimal catering…” A man after our own hearts.

But there will be more than enough booze

Ed Sheeran knows how to throw a party

MistaJam gets the lowdown on Mr Sheeran's hosting skills.

“I have local brewed ale on tap,” Ed told MistaJam. “It’s more of a pump, like a proper pump. I got given loads of really good tequila, which I’ve just got in to, because I don’t really get a hangover from it. Or vodka, get on the peach flavoured vodka, but usually the ale.”

He’ll make you start strong

“If you start your night with tequila, you’ll have a great night. If you finish your night with tequila, you’ll have an awful night. You always have to have a first one just to get it going.”

The entertainment will be lit, obviously

After Ed Sheeran's gap year, where would he recommend for your holidays?

Ed tells Chris about the highlights of his time spent travelling last year.

Expecting Ed to perform at his party? Probs not, but he does have plenty of other ways to keep his guests amused. “I have a record player that you also plug a phone into, and a pool table, and also a swimming pool.” Fancy.

You're guaranteed to hear this song on the playlist

No, not Give Me Love, it's actually not one of Ed's own. “With my group of friends, it’s one song I’ve got on this list, but in terms of a lot of groups of friends I’d say George Benson - Give Me The Night. Anytime that comes on people get that little boogie on.”

Ed’s mum and dad might even pop up

“I’ve got a video of my parents on their wedding anniversary with all their friends, spangled at my house, dancing to [Give Me The Night], doing the worst dad dancing in the world and not really caring that me and my mates are filming them. It was amazing.”

Just don’t anticipate a late one

Even on a special occasion, Mr Sheeran struggles to stay up past 12. “I was in bed at half midnight on New Year’s Eve, because I have a place overseas and I have lager on tap there, and we were just drinking lager all day every day. Every one of us fell asleep after midnight every day.” Just call him Cinder-ED-la.
