Tansy Davies has been commissioned and performed internationally, by ensembles and orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group with Thomas AdΓ¨s, Grup Instrumental de Valencia, London Sinfonietta, BIT 20, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Musiques Nouvelles, Orquesta Sinfonica de Chile, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra for the Proms in 2010, and a carol for Kings College Choir for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in 2011.
In 2009 Tansy Davies received a Paul Hamlyn Award, in 2011 her Requiem As with Voices and with Tears was nominated for a South Bank Show/Sky Arts Award, and Tansy was awarded the honourary degree of Doctor of the University of Essex.
Her orchestral work, Wild Card, has been shortlisted for the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco Composition Prize, in 2012. Works in progress include a piano concerto for Huw Watkins and BCMG with Oliver Knussen, and a work for Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
Future projects include a commission from English National Opera, in collaboration with poet Nick Drake and director Deborah Warner.
