David Childs has emerged as one of the fi nest brass soloists in the world today. He has appeared as soloist with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Philharmonic, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Philharmonic; given concerto performances at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Proms, Cheltenham Festival, Harrogate International Festival, Welsh Proms and New York Festival; performed solo recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Bridgewater Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall; and regularly records as a solo artist for radio, television and commercial disc.

Inspired by his father Robert, David began playing the euphonium at an early age. Today he is in great demand as soloist and educator touring regularly throughout Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, Hong Kong, and the USA. In 2010 he made his debut in New York performing Karl Jenkins’ Concerto for Euphonium and Orchestra at the prestigious Carnegie Hall and in 2011 he gave the UK premiere of Christian Lindberg’s Euphonium Concerto with the RWCMD Chamber Orchestra.

A former Brass final winner of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Young Musician, David is enjoying leading the way for a new generation of euphonium players worldwide.
