Marty has always wanted to be a nurse. It might have been the thought of helping someone that made him daydream of wearing scrubs, but it was most likely the pull of working with other sassy nurses that lived off endless cups of tea and had an encyclopaedic knowledge of trashy telly. In his eyes, this was the holy grail of occupations.
Marty was different in school to many of his classmates and had a healthy dose of ambition from a young age. He’s always had a delicious sense of humour and a love of all things trendy. This ensured he wasn’t a social outcast, however his desire to be a nursing manager by the time he’s 36 means he doesn’t have time to socialise. Marty is all about bettering himself and getting to a position of power.
His confidence can often come across as cockiness to others and although his straight talking bedside manner could be described as too much for some patients - his clinical skills are flawless. Marty was born to do this job and has the technical ability to help out in any situation.
His Achilles’ heel is always his heart, which more often than not is left broken. For someone with a steely determination, he falls in love at the drop of a hat and pines after a new man most weeks. Despite only being 22 he’d love to settle down and start a family. But after each doomed romance he remembers that unlike his career, this is one dream that can’t be planned out…
