Sah Brockner doesn’t do introspection. They’re not keen on emoting about feelings. They’re not keen on anything. Or at least, that’s what they’d have you believe. Sah doesn’t want to be seen trying for anything. They came middle of their year at uni and failed their early paramedic interviews because of their flat affect and barely concealed eyerolls. But they met their match in Jan Jenning, who wasn’t put off by the cynicism. Jan detects a big heart underneath the chilly exterior.

Still, it won’t be easy to warm Sah up. Enthusiasm, caring, emotional vulnerability, it’s all yuck. If Teddy is a dog person they’re all cat – aloof and used to relying on themselves. Sah needs to learn that they can be vulnerable and still be themselves. That sarcasm isn’t always better than candour. Maybe the paramedic team are exactly who they need…
