The Kite's TaleÌý
The project to reintroduce the Red Kite to its lost habitats in Scotland and England, and to rebuild the Welsh population has been one of the most successful conservation ventures in the British Isles.
Red Kites are now flying in more places than they have done for over two hundred years and more of us have the chance to see them. But this bird, which was once our commonest bird of prey, has had a roller-coaster ride through history thanks to the way in which we’ve persecuted it in the past.
Brett Westwood explores our changing attitudes to the red kite.
