Nature: Frogs and toads
In this last edition in the current series of Nature, ÌýBrett Westwood investigates what lies behind the successes and failures of Britain's common frogs and toads.
It's the time of year when garden ponds across the country begin to reverberate to the croaks of mating frogs. And it turns out that garden ponds have actually been the saviour of Britain's common frogs.
In fact frogs are doing well in gardens but numbers have been dropping drastically in the countryside.
Toads, on the other hand are doing badly in gardens and in the wider countryside.
