Conductor Jessica Cottis made her Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Proms debut in 2016, returning in 2017 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This season, she makes debuts with the LA Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and will conduct a new opera by Israeli composer Na'ama Zisser for the Royal Opera House.
Highlights of recent seasons include performances with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, Malmö Symfoniorkester, Scottish Opera, Malaysian Philharmonic and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Cottis studied with Colin Metters and Sir Colin Davis on the postgraduate conducting course at the Royal Academy of Music where she graduated with distinction. She has filmed programmes for Play School (ABC Australia), CBeebies (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ) and the Royal Opera House, has conducted projects with the National Youth Orchestra and Sistema Scotland, and led courses for aspiring female conductors with the Royal Philharmonic Society. She makes her home in South London and in her spare time is learning to fly helicopters.
