When Paul first arrived to cover Denise Metcalf at the Vets Surgery, Alistair Lloyd was initially irritated by his outgoing personality and over-familiarity with clients. Alistair was further wrong-footed when he discovered that Paul was in fact Denise’s son.

Alistair came to Paul’s defence when Berrow Farm boss, Martyn Gibson made a homophobic remark about Paul and since then both Alistair and Jakob Hakansson have grown to enjoy having Paul on their team, even agreeing to go on work outings, albeit reluctantly!

Sociable Paul likes nothing more than a night out with his friends especially when Karaoke is on the agenda. He and Ruairi Donovan have been on a couple of nights out together but Paul has turned down Ruairi's attempt to kiss him, saying he's not looking for casual encounters but a serious relationship.

I love playing Paul! I think everyone should share his level of enthusiasm and zest for life, it's infectious!

Joshua trained at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and the National Youth Theatre GB.

Highlights include "Richard III" at the Almeida Theatre, working with Gugu Mbatha Raw on British wartime drama film, "Summerland", and the series "Queen Charlotte, A Bridgerton Story" for Netflix.

He was blown away by the offer to join The Archers. He said, "My grandmother has been a religious listener since the show's inception and to be able to relay this wonderful news to her was truly a dream come true!"
