As finance director of Borchester Land, he was a tough nut for former chair to crack when pushing through new schemes.
He's also a golfer, and on the committee of Ambridge Golf Club, which leases its ground and premises from Borchester Land. So he seemed to be the perfect man to conduct a review of the club's operations after the departure of its general manager. Former clubhouse and catering manager soon came to dread his knock on her office door. A few months later, she was gone.
More recently Martyn succeeded Brian as the new boss at Berrow Farm, giving employees Neil Carter, Hannah Riley and Jazzer McCreary pause for some serious thought.
