Family has always been important to Roy. A teenage fling with Kate produced Phoebe but he's always been an involved dad. Then, after the loss of his mum, Roy felt guilty about leaving dad alone in the house, so he and then wife found the perfect solution in the conversion of the existing house.
Roy's had a steady career in the leisure and hospitality industry. He left his job at Grey Gables Hotel to become the manager at Lower Loxley Hall. But a short and unsatisfactory affair with his boss put paid to that. It also ended his previously happy (if a bit dull) marriage.
He returned to Grey Gables and then met the love of his life . Life was good until Lexi became a surrogate for Adam and Ian and after Xander was born the pull of her home in Bulgaria was too much to resist. The relationship ended and Roy has once again dabbled in dating (previously he's used a spreadsheet to keep track of his dates) but he remains single.
