Owen Gunnell

Since winning the percussion final of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Young Musician in 2000, Owen graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2003 and has enjoyed a varied career as a percussionist. He has appeared as a soloist with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia, Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Viva, among others. He is one half of the percussion duo 'O Duo', who have won many prizes and performed and been broadcast on television and radio all over the world. Highlights include world premieres at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Proms, the Barbican, Moralia Festival (Mexico), Cheltenham Festival, St Magnus Festival and various performances across Europe, Africa and Asia. O Duo are artistic directors for Children's Classic Concerts in Scotland, curating and performing in a variety of concerts ranging from chamber size to symphony orchestra size. Owen is also a member of the Crash Ensemble Dublin , touring USA and Australia regularly with them since 2005.
He has appeared as an orchestral and chamber musician with the London Sinfonietta, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ orchestras, the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, the Colin Currie group, Moscow chamber orchestra and many more.
