Andrew Crowley

Brass Adjudicator

Born in London, Andrew has established himself as one of the most diverse, recorded and high profile trumpet players in the world. Foremost a classical graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, he has performed as a soloist internationally and specialised in contemporary music performance with the London Sinfonietta.

In addition, he is a very busy studio musician who can be heard on hundreds of film scores and recordings, from Joni Mitchell?s Travelogue album track Love, to the credited solos in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Skin I Live In (composer Alberto Iglesias), The Legend of Bagger Vance by Rachel Portman and the last four 007 movies. Other notable appearances within different genres of music have included jazz/pop artists such as Quincy Jones, Ornette Coleman, Sir Paul McCartney and Peter Gabriel.

As a conductor, he has appeared with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and with London Brass at the Bath Festival and Royal Albert Hall Proms. In 2013, he conducted an orchestra with Bono of U2 in Dublin, for a performance in honour and in the presence of Aung San Suu Kyi.

He has given master classes all over the world, including recently, the Juilliard School of Music. He teaches at the Royal College of Music and is currently the manager and long serving trumpeter with London Brass, the internationally acclaimed brass ensemble. He has recently become the European Clinician for Vincent Bach Stradivarius Trumpets.
