Sweta has been in the UK on and off for the last ten years but grew up in a small town in Assam, North East India.
Ingredients here were limited but her mum would make the most of what was available when cooking for the family. At the same time the advent and access to travel and food television opened up a whole new culinary world to Sweta which is where she first became interested in food. Whilst other kids were watching cartoons, she would be watching food programmes.
Her favourite cuisines to cook are Asian and Mediterranean in the broadest sense - from Middle Eastern and South East Asian, to Italian or Turkish. She has also begun to cook Latin & South American dishes.
She cooks a lot of fresh noodles dishes and her favourite ingredients are garlic, chilli and lemongrass.
