He's terrified, excited, bewildered... but James Bye is ready to say hello to Strictly!
Trading learning lines for learning routines, meet EastEnders actor turned Strictly star James Bye!
Most of us will know James from the streets of Walford, where he's played character Martin Fowler since 2014, appearing in over 800 episodes. In 2016 he won Best Storyline at the British Soap Awards for his part in Stacey's post-partum psychosis journey, exploring Martin's struggle to get his fictional partner the right help after giving birth.
But James' acting career began back in 2005, when he graduated from Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and landed roles in shows and films including The Bill, Cemetery Junction, Hummingbird, The Hooligan Factory and The Great Train Robbery.
James has also been a big presence on the EastEnders YouTube and social channels, hosting online quiz show Albert Squared and cooking show Getting Bye With The Basics over the past few years. He's also appeared on our screens in Pointless Celebrities, Take Off with Bradley and Holly, and The Wall.
He currently lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife, three children and two dogs - Bombardier and Beefeater - and is best mates with EastEnders and Strictly alumni Davood Ghadami. We're sure he's given James some top tips to get him prepped for his Strictly journey, and we can't wait to see them in action!
