A cheeky spectacled bear dismantles a camera trap!
High in the Peruvian Andes lives a very special bear. One of the rarest large carnivores on the planet, the spectacled bear is the 'real' Paddington.
Over the course of a few months the curious bears vandalised the camera traps, leaving them broken and in pieces.
The Planet Earth II Mountains team set up a series of remote camera traps to capture this elusive character close up in the wild for the first time. But the bears weren't as well behaved or collaborative as the snow leopards. Over the course of a few months the curious bears vandalised the camera traps, leaving them broken and in pieces. Watch the bears' bad behaviour unfold as they systematically destroy our cameras. The few shots the team did capture are a unique record of one of the most endangered and rarely seen large animals in the world.
