In the forests of the Canadian Rockies, grizzly bears are getting their groove on.
Everyone loves a good scratch but this behaviour is more complex. The bears are leaving a unique scent mark, posting their presence in the forest for other bears to sniff out. It may be a way to avoid fights during the short mountain winter.
But to spread their scent over as much of the tree as possible, they really have to put their back into it.
