Penny Red are a four-piece rock band hailing from the Suffolk/Essex border.

They've been gigging for a couple of years and love to put on a really energetic show.
Listen: Monsters (Real, 56k, 3'54")
Listen: Punk Soul (Real, 56k, 5'26")
Listen: All She Said Was Now (Real, 56k, 3'44")

Penny Red's energy and passion will come across much more successfully live than on this recording. They obviously love what they do but the rough edges of the performance start to become a little too obvious after a couple of plays.

The members of Penny Red are:

Malcom Frost - Guitar, Lead vocals
Richard Maydell - Guitar
Rob Cousins - Bass
Alan Hazelden - Drums

They describe their sound as "aggressive rock, combining the pop-rock sensibility of the Wildhearts with the raw edge of Nirvana and the shouty excitement of early Manic St Preachers."

Penny Red made their first studio recording in October 2004 and the result of this session is what's available for your listening pleasure right here.

Have a listen and let the band know what you think on the message board below.
