mini review
A mix of heartfelt pop-rock and punky rhythms make 84Days' sound seem very versatile with a lot to offer a range of musical tastes.
84Days were formed from a high school friendship. The two guitarists have been mates for ten years and when they both started learning the guitar back in 2001 they naturally started writing songs together.

Oli and Paul wrote and recorded a couple of acoustic songs together but both felt they could do better with a full band around them (and someone that could actually sing).

They gathered together a group of musical mates and formed a band called Red 6. Song writing continued profusely but the band went through a period of numerous changes in lead singer.

When Harry joined the band as the man with the mic, they decided they needed a new start with a new name and 84Days was born.

Harry became a fully fledged member of the band in May 2003 and the guys played their first gig at the end of August. It was a surprising success and it spurred the band on to continue working on developing their sound and making their live performances tighter.

84Days entered Springvale Studios near Ipswich in November 2003 and recorded their first EP 'The Other Ten Percent'.

It was during these recording sessions that their sound was likened by the engineer's girlfriend to an early REM.

The band themselves believe they draw from a wide range of musical influences as all the members have rather broad musical tastes themselves.
