Charlie Bradfield
The scourge of The Mill's female receptionists...
When Charlie arrived at Letherbridge he made something of an impact, but not a positive one. An unashamedly unreconstructed man; Charlie liked to say it how it was, or how he thought it was, and damn the consequences.
The fact that Charlie was sexist, homophobic and borderline racist did not endear him to anyone, and even old friend became appalled at his behaviour.
He subjected colleague Simon Bond to endless homophobic abuse (and possibly contributed to Simon’s breakdown) and was lewd and suggestive to most of the female staff, including the fragile Ruth Pearce.
We learned that Charlie had sexually assaulted a receptionist at his previous practice and blackmailed both her and the financially compromised Practice manager to keep their mouths shut.
But Charlie got his comeuppance when he essentially assaulted a deluded Julia Parsons who, under the influence of Lyme disease, mistook him for her ex husband Mac, and they had sex.
Heston thumped Charlie, his wife finally threw him out, he was dismissed from the Mill and reported to the GMC.
Last appearance was 23rd September 2010.
