Making content available
The universal nature of the licence fee means that for the Trust, getting Â鶹ԼÅÄ services free at the point of use to everyone in a way that is convenient for them is a key priority. It also means that the Â鶹ԼÅÄ itself needs to reflect the diversity of licence fee payers across the UK.
The Trust oversees the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s distribution arrangements, seeking to maintain routes to Â鶹ԼÅÄ content that are open, accessible, easy to use and convenient as well as representing good value for money.
The Â鶹ԼÅÄ distributes its content through broadcast channels like digital terrestrial television, satellite and cable, and also by making its Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s content available on the growing number of other platforms and devices through syndication.
The Distribution framework sets out the principles and requirements that the Â鶹ԼÅÄ must follow when it looks to make its services on TV, radio and online widely available to audiences.
