Â鶹ԼÅÄ

Understanding our audiences

The Trust exists to get the best out of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ for licence fee payers. To do this, we must listen to what they think and understand their views and priorities. To inform our decision making, we commission independent research, both qualitative and quantitative in nature.

Our research complements our other sources of insight, such as public consultations and the work of the Audience Councils. Research projects explore licence fee payers’ views on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s Public Purposes, the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s many services, and other topics. The licence fee places a duty on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ to serve all audiences.

Research enables us to understand the strength of views across the whole UK population, as well as allowing us to appreciate any differences between diverse groups of people. We publish the results of our research on our website, to ensure openness and transparency in our decision making.
