Hannah Grace
The business of writing biographies is too frequently about stringing cliches and hyperbole together in what the writer hopes is a persuasive manner.

It’s double glazing sales patter but with more adverbs and many more references to the Velvet Underground.
The thing is, you’ve read biographies before too, and you know they’re not really to be trusted. If I were to write: “Hannah Grace has a remarkable, breathtaking voice the likes of which you stumble across once in a generation. A voice that can whisper heartbreak into the centre of your soul, but also erupt like a volcano of soulful defiance” you’d probably think, “There they go again, the ‘music industry’, trying to flog me tin-foil as treasure.”
And I wouldn’t blame you for feeling cynical.
So, do me a favour, type ‘Hannah Grace’ and ‘Meant To Be Kind’ into your favourite search engine and come back to me after you’ve listened to it and you tell me the words that best fit the experience. Because I’m (mostly) speechless.
In the meantime, this is what we know about Hannah. She is 21 years old and hails from Bridgend in South Wales.
Her music draws upon her many influences including folk, soul, jazz and pop. Hannah caught the attention of Gabrielle Aplin in 2012. A successful support tour with Gabrielle followed, after which, Hannah was invited to sing backing vocals for Gabrielle on her sold out UK English Rain tour in 2013 and Glastonbury 2014.
Hannah went onto release her debut Meant to be Kind E.P through Gabrielle Aplins' Never Fade Records in July 2014 to an overwhelmingly positive response. One of the tracks from the EP, ‘Broke’, was chosen by iTunes as their ‘single of the week’ in the UK, France, Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Hannah supported Hozier on part of his recent European tour towards the end of 2014 and is now currently working on new music. She has been working on her own music alongside attending the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff where she studies Jazz Vocals.
And she sounds nothing like The Velvet Underground.
