Sometimes there isn’t a lot to say. Especially when a really exciting band appear, seemingly overnight, and apparently from nowhere.

We can, at least, fill in the blank marked ‘nowhere’. Mellt are from Aberystwyth. They’re Year 13 (Upper Sixth Form in old currency) students at Penglais School. But unlike the majority of school bands, you won’t find any Arctic Monkeys or Guns ’n’ Roses in their setlist, Mellt (lightning!) have a set filled with urgent, incendiary bolts of high voltage tuneage, like the very excellent Cysgod Cyfarwydd.
They’re currently working with legend of the Sin Roc Gymraeg, Mei Gwynedd (Beganifs / Big Leaves / Sibrydion / many sessions!).
This is the start of their story. We are thrilled to be part of the telling.
