Fionntán McDonald and Eoin Kearns
An array of talent and musical tradition
Formed in 2011, McDonald & Kearns met at the local Traditional Sessions in Lurgan, County Armagh. They instantly clicked with their mix of tunes and songs and decided to take it on the road. They play mainly from the Irish Tradition but also incorporate Bluegrass, Jazz and some modern Irish compositions. They have gained many fans, awards and praise in this short time.
Fionntán and Eoin bring together an array of talent and musical tradition. Their sound is raw and energetic. They were recently crowned winners this year of the new 'An Re Nua' competition in conjunction with Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2013 for the best new traditional acts in Ireland. They have appeared on programmes broadcast on RTE, TG4 and Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Ulster. In the past year they have supported Beoga, Damien O'Kane, Damien Mullane, Padraig Rynne, PJ McDonald and Brid Harper. The duo have recorded their debut E.P to critical acclaim and continue to play throughout the year.
