Miles Jupp

Miles Jupp is an actor, comedian, and writer. One of his best known roles has been as Nigel, the lay reader in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ2 BAFTA winning sitcom Rev.

Miles began his career by performing stand-up on the Scottish circuit, where he was nominated for a Perrier Best Newcomer Award for his debut Edinburgh show, Gentlemen Prefer Brogues.

Miles presented four series of the topical radio show Newsjack and has contributed to a number of Radio 4 shows such as The News Quiz, Loose Ends, The Motion Show and Fringe Cuts, as well as his own series Miles Jupp’s Real World, co-performed with Frankie Boyle which was broadcast in 2005.

Miles first appeared on our screens in the children’s series Balamory when he played Archie the Inventor. As an actor he has appeared in the feature films Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, Death Defying Acts, and Is Anybody There? Miles has also enjoyed acting roles in the BAFTA winning TV series Rev, Campus, The Thick of It, Gary: Tank Commander and Lip Service.

Miles has appeared in numerous panel shows including Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Argumental and Just A Minute.

Miles’ true passion is cricket and he managed to blag his way onto the England cricket team's 2006 tour of India as a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ sports journalist. This has formed the basis of his latest stand up show and upcoming book Fibber in the Heat.

Earlier this year, Miles won the celebrity edition of Mastermind in 2012, with his specialist subject on the cricketer Michael Atherton.
