Hristiyan was born in Pleven, Bulgaria and first discovered a love for percussion at the age of three when he started to learn the tupan, a traditional Bulgarian instrument. When he was six his teachers recognised his potential and encouraged him to attend the nearby Panayot Pipkov National School of Arts, where he began to study classical percussion. He is currently studying at Whitgift School in Croydon, where he has performed on numerous occasions as a soloist and orchestral player, and has also managed to continue his favourite sport – basketball.
