A passionate advocate for the bassoon, Amy is much sought after as a soloist, chamber musician, teacher and communicator, regularly featuring on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ television. Highlights over the last year include recitals at Wigmore Hall with Dame Sarah Connolly, her debut at the Aldeburgh Festival in the UK, and at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, USA with the St. Lawrence Quartet. This season Amy returns to Wigmore Hall as part of the Beethoven celebrations and gives a series of concerts with the Orsino Ensemble at festivals across Europe.
As a soloist she has appeared in Birmingham Opera’s production of Stockhausen’s Mittwoch aus Licht, performed Strauss’s Concertino with the English Chamber Orchestra, Mozart’s Concerto at the Festival Suoni dal Golfo in Italy and a new work by Roxanna Panufnik with the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
At the age of 23 Amy was appointed principal of the Philharmonia Orchestra. She has appeared as guest principal with leading orchestras including the Mahler Chamber, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, and London Symphony Orchestras and is currently principal of the Aurora and English National Opera Orchestras. She was selected by YCAT in 2014.
