Steve Davis is one of the greatest snooker players in history winning the world title six times and dominating the sport during its heyday in the 1980s.

In stark contrast to Alex Higgins, Steve was professional in the extreme – practicing religiously; rarely drinking, smoking or partying – and playing a robotic form of snooker that was as boring as it was incredibly effective.

Away from the table Steve was incredibly shy and reserved but under the guidance of his friend and manager Barry Hearn he blossomed – first into the epitome of ice cool confidence but then into a funny and self-deprecating much loved national institution.
