Understanding the blues
Blues guitarist Tony Remy outlines the harmonic basis of the 12 bar blues structure. He goes on to demonstrate the pentatonic scale and how he uses it for improvising solo melodic lines on the guitar. Chordal playing and solo phrases are put together in a call and response structure. These concepts are shown in context as the blues band jams in the studio.
