A description of the instruments and musical materials used in a junk band workshop session. Giles Perring discusses the origins and evolution of his music group, Echo City. He describes the 'junk' instruments they work with. These include drums made from recycled industrial containers and batphones made from plastic gas pipes. Footage of rehearsal and music workshop sessions explore the rhythmic components which go into making a piece derived from traditional Burundi drum patterns
