Kathak Indian dance music
Indian-British musician, producer and composer Nitin Sawhney discusses how he works with traditional Indian instruments and ideas as the basis for his compositional work. He describes how he often uses rhythmic patterns, or talas, as a starting point, gradually overdubbing synthesised parts from a keyboard sequencer. We see how these parts are transferred back to acoustic instruments for performance with a dancer.
