About the programme
Ben's family have lived in Leicestershire since the beginning of the last century, so it's fair to say that he's about as 'Leicestershire' as it gets! In fact it's one of the reasons he loves his job so much.
One of Ben's other passions is cooking, which given that Leicestershire is over-run with great producers is no bad thing. In fact his two young children have been heard to say that daddy's shepherds pie is the best - just don't let Ben's mum know!
Ben is also mad about anything old and oily which he puts down to his dad who always seems to have one 'project' or another on the go. Ben can often be seen pottering about the county in his late grandmother's first car - a sporty old 1930s MG.
In the last couple of years he's also got into motorbiking after riding one from Leicester to John O'Groats and back for charity. He loved the bike so much his wife bought it for him as a surprise birthday present!
Ben loves hearing your stories and hates the phrase 'I didn't think you'd be interested' - he's always interested! In fact given half a chance he's often popping round to people's houses for a chat and a cuppa.
