THE ROYAL WEDDING
When Royals Wed Ep 1/4

New series
Easter Monday 25 to Thursday 28 April
9.00-9.45am Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE

Larry Lamb and Lesley Garrett present a history of royal weddings from Victorian times to present day, in When Royals Wed. This four-part, archive-rich, magazine series for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime explores the different elements of royal weddings from courtship and guest lists to the big day itself.

Taking in two centuries of social history from 1840, when Queen Victoria's nuptials distantly enthralled the nation, the series offers a view not just of royal marriages but also of the Britain they took place in.

It shows how royal weddings have influenced other people's special days; the personal stories of couples who married on the same day as royalty; how royal courtships developed; and the State's role in arranging them on occasion.

When Royals Wed is a fresh look at Britain's past through the ever-present fascination with how and who Royals marry.

MasterChef Ep 13/15

High Definition programme
Easter Monday 25 April
9.00-10.00pm Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE HD

After 11 weeks of tough competition, it's the start of finals week on MasterChef. Over the next three nights, the finalists face the culinary adventure of a lifetime, at the end of which one will walk away the MasterChef champion.

Tonight the three finalists start their adventure 10,000 miles away in Australia. Kicking off in Northern Queensland's pre-historic rainforest, they must face a masterclass in rainforest bush food with a local guide from the 10,000-year-old Kuku Yalanji tribe.

After nibbling on native fruit – quandongs – and avoiding poisonous snakes, they must prepare lunch for the family and friends of their guide. Desperate to impress the locals with their creative use of bush tucker, tension is high as the finalists battle to make two great dishes with unfamiliar ingredients such as crocodile, kangaroo and lilli pillies, on barbeques in the middle of the rainforest and in just an hour and a half.

Next up, they travel south along the Queensland coast to the fishing town of Port Douglas where the three finalists have been entrusted with a unique challenge: catering a wedding. It's a nerve-wracking experience and they have just four hours to create 50 exquisite portions of their own food – there is no room for error, they simply have to deliver on the bride and groom's big day. With the heat outside at 35C and the temperature rising in the kitchen, the finalists battle to keep their cool and produce their very best food on time.

Finally, their trip Down Under culminates in Sydney with a fearful challenge for the finalists. They are cooking a very special, three-course lunch designed by John Torode and inspired by his 27-year career, to feed a select group of his most important mentors. The pressure is on as the finalists work under John to execute his three delectable dishes to perfection. Every single element has to come together and with a tricky soufflΓ© and ice cream on the menu there's a dicey end to an emotional celebration of John's passion for good food.

MasterChef's finals week continues tomorrow night.

MasterChef is simulcast in HD on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One HD on Freesat channel 108, Freeview channel 50, Sky channel 143 and Virgin Media channel 108.

Leo and his gang of friends set about saving an unhappy bride from her villainous fiancΓ©, as the action-packed drama series based on the adventures of the teenage Leonardo da Vinci continues.

When Leo and Lisa are commissioned to paint a wedding portrait of Petronella, the most miserable bride they've ever seen, they are determined to get to the bottom of her problems. Things become clearer when they meet her betrothed, the cruel and violent Lucio.

A notorious money lender, Lucio is actually taking Petronella as payment for her father's debts and, unbeknown to the gang, he's also an employee of the mysterious Luminari.

Lisa is outraged when she learns the truth so, together, the friends hatch a plan to stop the wedding. Their risky scheme involves witches, art thieves and alchemists, and if they pull it off they won't just save Petronella – they'll also trick Lucio out of every florin he's got.

Leonardo is played by Jonathan Bailey, Lisa by Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Petronella by Jay Anstey, Lucio by Michael Richard, Machiavelli by Akemnji Ndifornyen and Lorenzo by Colin Ryan.
