Following the success of last year's inaugural Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 World Routes Academy Late Night Prom devoted to Iraqi music, the rich and ancient musical traditions of South India are the focus of this year's concert. The current mentee is London-born Hari Sivanesan, already a prodigious talent on the veena (a precursor to the sitar). Hari's mentor is Aruna Sairam, widely regarded as the leading South Indian female vocalist of her generation, and together they explore their musical roots and influences. This Late Night Prom is a cornerstone of the ongoing collaboration between these two talents ().
