The Delicious Miss Dahl

The delectable Sophie Dahl brings her culinary prowess to television with a six-part cookery series marrying her talent for storytelling with fresh, enticing recipes.

For Sophie, food and emotion are inextricably linked. Each episode, therefore, is themed around an emotional thread including romance, nostalgia and escapism. With food as the centrepiece, she revisits treasured places, revealing the personal resonance behind each of her recipes.

From the stony Sussex beach she played on as a child, to a hidden urban cemetery and its messages of enduring love, Sophie reflects on moments in her life that have shaped her approach to food.

Sophie's quirky and unique approach to cooking makes this series a real feast – earthy, funny and, above all, straight from the heart.

Delia Through The Decades

Delia... a culinary legend and a name to strike hope into the hearts of even the most timid cook. To mark her 40 years in cookery, this five-part series celebrates Delia Smith's incredible career and the impact she has had on the nation's eating habits.

Looking back through the years, Delia selects the defining recipes from each decade and reinvents some of them with a contemporary twist. The series also raids the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's archives for fantastic footage and has exclusive access to Delia's personal archive.

There's a reminder of the music, the fashions and the news stories that captured the nation's attention as, thanks to Delia, coriander or chopped shallots were sprinkled in British kitchens for the very first time.

Celebrity followers including Stephen Fry, Victoria Wood and David Attenborough season the series with their own reminiscences of this national treasure.

Mastercrafts

A great admirer of British crafts, Monty Don presents a new series celebrating the nation's craftsmanship and the recent renaissance in traditional crafts.

Each week on Mastercrafts, three hopefuls get the chance to study under some of the country's leading master craftsmen and women.

They will be trained to a high standard in the craft of their choice, including metal work, wood craft, stone masonry, glass-making, thatching and weaving. The aim is to equip them with the practical knowledge and skills to give them a head start in their chosen craft.

Monty will be charting the students' progress during their training and exploring the fascinating and often forgotten history of each craft. The aim is to put traditional crafts firmly back on the map in modern Britain.

The Hairy Bikers – Mums Know Best

The Hairy Bikers – Mums Know Best

The Hairy Bikers, Simon King and Dave Myers, have travelled the globe in search of the tastiest and most exotic dishes they can find, but they have never lost their passion for good old-fashioned home cooking.

In this series, the Hairy Bikers are sending out a call-to-arms for grandmothers, mums and daughters, from matriarchs to yummy mummies, to unlock their private recipe archives and share them with the nation.

Each week, the boys drop in on three keen cooks, raiding their larders and plundering the secrets of their cookbooks in search of family recipes that have been passed from one generation to the next and stood the test of time. Simon and Dave will cook alongside the "star" mums in their kitchens and hear the stories behind the family's favourite dishes.

Each episode begins and ends at the Hairy Bikers' Recipe Fair, a huge event where hundreds of foodies bring recipes they want to pass on and dishes for people to taste. The day culminates with a banquet, prepared by the Hairy Bikers and our three mums, but not before "the old tech challenge", in which kitchen gadgets from every era are tested head-to-head to see which works best. With the boys in charge it's never going to be a conventional day out.
