 | | There is an exciting new family event happening this week as Coventry' s black community is being invited to 'strut their stuff' on stage at The Belgrade Theatre.
There will be a huge range of talent on show - performers of all types and all ages ranging from veteran singer Ray King, whose records were high in the hit parade 40 years ago, to Phoenix Nights, the young musicians who recently won Kix Radio' s talent competition.
There will also be poetry from Andrea Reynolds, songs from Tamisjah Matthews, winner of the 2002 Black History Month talent show and dance from Combat Breakers, who last year finished third in the UK B Boy Championships.

Many of these young performers have huge talent and enthusiasm and now will receive the benefit of support and production expertise from Belgrade staff.
Coventry Rootz will be a great evening out for all the family with something to suit everyone's musical and cultural tastes. In the theatre foyers there will be Caribbean food tasting, steel bands playing and an exhibition of local art and photography from days gone by.
Whatever colour you are, you can celebrate skills from the old skool, styles from the new and bring colourful flavour to all your senses with drama, fashion, comedy and music from hip hop to Gospel!
