 |  | Some of the biggest - and finest - names on the stand up circuit were treading the boards in Stratford when the RSC opened its doors for its first ever comedy week, as part of the spring visitors' season.
The Week with Laughter season featured top acts Mark Thomas, Rhona Cameron, Ed Byrne, Richard Herring, Ross Noble, Daniel Kitson and The Comedy Store Players, all appearing at The Swan.

The week opened with the wizard-haired star of Black Books and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Bill Bailey on Sunday, 23 February at The RST.
Since he was nominated for a Perrier Award for his first solo show at the Edinburgh Festival in 1996, Bill has completed for major UK and international tours, winning the Best Live Stand Up award for 1999.
Bill's unique blend of comedy and music has earned him great critical acclaim and an international fan base with his shows selling out all over the world.

Making another well-anticipated trip to Warwickshire on Monday, 24 February at The Swan was Mark Thomas, who also appeared at Warwick Arts Centre this season.
Host of his own TV show, The Mark Thomas Comedy Product, his new stand-up show, After Ilisu: What I Did Next, discusses himself, Iraq and the USA.
Described as "Moving and inspiring....as gripping as any live performance you will see" by the Guardian, it looks to be unmissable.

The Comedy Store Players peformed on Tuesday, 25 February, displaying quick wit and impressive powers of improvisation.
The players used the audience's shouted-out suggestions and then bowled them over with their ingeniuos, sometimes absurd and always hilarious results!

Tragically best known for appearing on last year's smash hit, I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, one of the country's best stand ups, Rhona Cameron made an appearance at The Swan on Wednesday, 26 February.
The outspoken Scot has appeared on numerous television programmes like Have I Got News for You and The Stand Up Show, as well as her own eponymous sitcom on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

Ed Byrne also played at The Swan on Thursday, 27 February, giving Stratford audiences the first chance to see his brand new solo show since he sold out in the West End.
As well as becoming one of the best known and loved comedians in the UK thanks to his unique brand of observational humour, he is also a burgeoning acting talent, appearing in comedy and drama.
Richard Herring was Talking Cock in the Swan on Friday, 28 February, offering a bit of light relief with the opposite view from the famous Vagina Monologues.
He shared opinions on his - and other men's - trouser snakes in a bid to discover why men rarely discuss their feelings for their real best friends, yet will brag and exaggerate about them.
Ross Noble brought Sonic Waffle to The Swan on Saturday, 1 March, as part of his UK tour.
Sonic Waffle was premiered in record-breaking style at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival, where it became the biggest selling show on the fringe and then transferred to the West End.
Finishing things off on Sunday, 2 March, at The Swan was Daniel Kitson - who is described as one of the most "exciting, honest, moving and hilarious comedians in the country".
If you like the sound of a 25-year-old man sharing his ill-informed opinions, being a bit angry about something, giggling at himself, swearing quite a lot, talking about love and doing a funny walk then you should probably come.
