Instructions to make Hey Duggee felt Christmas decoration

  1. Cut out all of the paper templates from the activity sheet. Place the full body paper template over the square sheet of red felt, use the template to cut the 2 full body Duggee shapes, place to the side.

  2. Place the two head templates over the square sheet of medium brown felt, use the templates to cut out. Place to the side.

  3. Place templates for Duggee’s hands over the medium brown felt and cut out.

  4. Place the templates for Duggee’s boots, belt and facial features on the black felt and cut out.

  5. Place the template for Duggee’s collar and hat rim on the white felt and cut out.

  6. Place the template for Duggee’s mouth over the light brow felt and cut out.

  7. Using the yellow felt, cut a small square piece for the belt buckle.

  8. With the two medium brown felt head pieces, take these in one hand and pick up a needle. Pinch each ear and sew a line to create the details on Duggee’s ears using the brown cotton. Do this on both pieces for the front and back of Duggee’s head.

  9. Using the PVA glue, glue both brown heads, hands, hat rim, collar, boots, belt and buckle onto the main red felt body.

  10. On the front side, glue on Duggee’s mouth, smile, nose and ears.

  11. Leave to dry.

  12. On the front side, sew on the two buttons just above his belt.

  13. Now that you have the front and back of Duggee you can begin a blanket stitch around the outside of his shape, sew all the way around leaving a small hole to place in your toy stuffing.

  14. Push the toy stuffing into the decoration and sew shut.

  15. Using the ribbon fold in half and stitch onto the top of the decoration.

  16. Glue the pom-pom to the top of Duggee.
