Hi Chris: I did g**gle Frank/Chris - I didn't know him at all, but from what I have read, he seems to have been really talented, and very funny. Best wishes to his family and friends who will miss him so much.

CLP - what a wide and varied career you've had. I bet you had fab times with Frank. I'm going to g**gle him too just to remind myself of who he is, there's a wee bell tinkling away in the darkest recesses of my mind (dark in a good way because that particular recollection is way, way at the back where not much light gets in) indicating that I may have heard of him in the past.

From the previous blog - loving all your best memories. Two of my best memories are meeting my gorgeous boys for the first time (again the memories wouldn't be too clear given the amount of drugs coursing through my bod but there is photographic evidence to give the old memory a nudge).

Deevs - I know when I first started lurking you were a very regular blogger and as your posts became less frequent and considerably shorter I realised that life for you had changed and probably for the better. I've missed you and enjoyed your lovely long musings from the previous blog. I'm sure you'll think of something equally fantastic for old Rolastic.

Annie - from the previous blog, I meant to say last night, it made me giggle that you were having coffee in the cupboard. I'm assuming it was with himself?

Clodagh - spot on as usual. Old Fabs seems to have become even more serious than before and quite the grumpy grumperson. I'd love to see him dressed in the postie outfit with his b&w cat and his wee red van. It might just cheer the players up too. Aw, I used to love watching Pat with the gorgeous boys - Mrs Goggins was my fave.

Anyhoo, must crack on - just popped in for a quick catch up. Trying to be on my best behaviour at work today and not take advantage of being quiet. I'm off to find something time consuming and / or fulfilling to be getting on with.

Will be back in for lunch.

I have googled Frank or Chris. His fibreglass head makes me laugh to start with. Then there's his sidekick, Mrs Merton. I can imagine how hilarious it must have all been. And you as the driver CLP, you must have had so much fun.

Christoff I DON'T believe it, I do indeed remember Frank Sidebottom and had no idea of his demise until I heard Mark Radcliffe last night talking about how they played his invention of Travel Snooker in the back of a van en route to London, with snooker balls made of velcro, hahahahahaha.. Have only just been talkin' to the bezzy mate and remeniscin' about him and his Oh Blimey Band; ergo was just about to reply to Darren Stephens' post on the previous blog, and do an NB. to your good self. BUT I had NO idea of your involvement, oh hurrah... well, I shoulda guessed really, shouldn't I.

Just as well, I look a bugger in them trolleys wit bells on an' straw 'at, frollickin' round wavin' bits a ribbon.

Any road up. There was I, tryin' to be sensible an' serious an' look, well, you know, suitably forlorn like you do whilst on that trolley wit Doctor Killmore clutchin' 'is instrument; when I asked, "By the way, doctor; can I drive with this leg?"

"Better than you could without it." Says he. So cue the usual hilarity and innuendo, which immediately brought in Hattie Jacques the Practice Nurse. "Oh, hiya," says she. "I mighta known it'd be you."

Flippin' cheek. Anyway, since 'e's only after returnin' from 'is golfin' trip to Ireland, we swapped tales as 'e carved lumps outa me leg an' turned it into a pork fillet, an' managed to do the dirty deed in only 2 sittings with a slight interval while 'e changed 'is gloves, as 'is glasses 'ad steamed up.

And I should like to publicly apologise to the GD, on her jollies in Dubrovnik, who texted me to find out how I was. I replied somewhat too graphically, apparently.

How was I to know she was eatin' mushrooms in tomato sauce for lunch.

AS - yep! There aren't many of us "originals" left on here (Mw,k was the first ever blogger). I first dived in in about November 2006 - about 2 or 3 months after CLP started this blog - when I was really down in the dumps working on a landfill site in a portakabin.

I've made so many wonderful friends on here, been to a fair few blog meets (as well as organised some of them) and of course met my amazing fella via CLP and his blogginess.

Also getting to meet CLP was just a lovely, lovely thing - even if I did swear (rather badly) when he told me who I was before I had introduced myself!

Frank Sidebottom was superb, when i worked in Manchester i used to catch the metrolink from Timperley Station , 100% true.

I just want to get fit enough to run the snicker sorry Marathon should i get selected. The training plan says 16 weeks, so i am going to stick to it , weather permitting, TV permitting and general apathy permitting. This week, Saturday is my rest day, which will fit in nicely with Leeds.

Failing that, i will just buy bigger clothes !

Baggy I wish! It'll not be 5lbs but 5 STONES if I keep eating. Just polished off a humungous bag of min****ls feel a bit green round the gills now, but that wont stop me.
I've got to get out of this comfort/stress/whatever mode of munching my way through everything.

It has just come to my notice that some bloggers think I am a Bingo character.

This has truly shocked and saddened me.

I was born on 5th July 1943. In March 2006 I suffered heart/lung failure and was diagnosed with COPD. In October 2006 I had a heart attack. I was very lucky to survive both these major incidents.

Since then I have been admitted to hospital during exacerbation (worsening of symptoms usually caused by colds)

As I am mostly housebound and can only get out with the help of my scooter, this blog was recommended to me by my very thoughtful son.

If people think that anyone could be sick minded enough to impersonate me then this is not the place for me.

As this blog so far has caused me so much stress it's not all good for my health and so I say goodbye.

Thank you to the lovely bloggers, you know who you are!

What should have been very joyous has turned a bit nasty as her grandson was born with leukemia and has had to have chemo already - don't know much more details at the moment but felt the need to share. Evening all

Beautiful day here.

I had a wonderful weekend, looking after darling little grandchildren, they were so well behaved.

Must say it was hard work, feeding, nappy changing and generally keeping them happy.

I didn't stop and only got about eight hours sleep all weekend but it was worth it, just for all the fun and laughter that was had by all.

House is so quiet today, so got stuck in to get some order back here, washing, ironing, cleaning and food shopping. Think I might have a bbq tonight.

Have had a a bit of a drama here this afternoon, Mr JG managed to trip down a hole at work, and hurt his foot, but he's been x-rayed and apart from some swelling, is fine! Dr thought he'd done a metatarsal...I told him he's not a footballer! lol

Him: It was only my foot went in it!!! I'm Ok and driving and thanks for the sympathy!

Me: What you going to A&E for then, get yourself home and get some ice on it!

Don't think I'd have had a good career in nursing somehow!

In other news: have wedding coming up at the end of July, plus choir performing in a posh concert in a couple of weeks, so am having a kind of rerun of last year's wedding preps, though obviously not as drastic. Still, another good reason to buy a posh frock (designer, in the sale at the House of the Scottish bloke in Dad's Army, ged in, back of the net, fits like a glove). And I can wear all my wedding accessories with it (without the tiara, natch) so it's positively a BARGAIN dahlinks).

For those who know me a bit, the teen troubles are currently abating and life is slowly returning to normal, "whatever that is".

Attention all chocoholics (and MC if she's about - not that she is eating choclit at the moment) my local elh has got B*r of P**nty on offer for a squid (I got the toffee apple and hazelnut and cashew) - they are far too expensive normally but you can just about justify a squid cos they're so yummy. (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) I'll take orders for Leeds if your local elh is not playing for this offer.

Thanks for your good wishes, girls, re. the aul hoppin' tackle.

It's flippin' sore at the minute actually, ow ow ow. Specially as I forgot meself earlier whilst chasin' after the ginger whirlin' dervish that is the great-nephew Zak, an' did the full-on pantomime Slappa-My-Thigh at 'im as we careered round the wheelie-bin. Now am in deep doodoo wit the Gorgeous Niece as the said youngfuller is delighted wit 'is brand new additions to 'is lexicon. Oops.

Which leads me nicely into the other thing, am LOVIN' the budgie theme on this morning's show. I myself was at one time the ashamed owner of possibly the worst-tempered budgie in the Northern Hemisphere, a little fat blue chap called Eric (natch), who used to batter seven shades a sh**e outa 'is plastic budgie punchbag on the floor of 'is cage, and if 'e caught sight of 'imself in 'is mirror, sweet sufferin' holy jayz there'd be bother. All 'is feathers on 'is neck would stand up on end an' 'e'd launch into a right clangin', furious tirade.

Mind. I thought it was understandable, really. I've often 'ad to resist the urge to head-butt me bathroom mirror in a mornin' as well. Anyway. We got 'im a bath that clipped onto the door of 'is cage; 'e just looked lividly at us as if to say, "Oy. What you tryin' to say?" So no joy there either. I began to wonder if 'e was born into the wrong body, you know, like some people are; maybe what we had here was a Rottweiler in a budgie's body.

In due course of time we thought 'e probably needed a little friend, so we got 'im one. An' that was a mistake that will karmically re-visit me one day, it was tantamount to trowin' Clarice Starling (ey hahaha) in wit Hannibal Lecter. The mornin' after that little experiment, 'is cage looked like there'd bin a pillow-fight.

Thank you for the well dones on the mensh. First (and probably last) time I've ever made a suggestion (I never know song titles and artistes, too busy to pay attention) so was well chuffed to get it played especially when MTF had to persevere to get her ARF opener played. (I had to listen again as I missed it in real time.)

CSN - glad you had a lovely time at the weekend. Making lovely memories for the wee ones, how special is that?

Annie - is there enough room in the cupboard for more than one person at a time? Sad to hear about Tam White. Did you see him in River City recently?

Susan - very best wishes to your friend, her wee boy and the family. I didn't realise babies could be born with something like that.

But just to add a note of hope.. remember the conjoined twins from Cork? The ones I seem to remember many of yous guys sending out your healing vibes for? Well, last week guess who I saw. Yes, they're back home safe and well and fighting fit after their successful operation to separate them. Not quite out of the woods yet, they've a few problems which will still have to be addressed; but what a gorgeous dynamic duo they are indeed, and a happier family you won't find.

So, you see, there is always hope. Hope and faith, and powerful vibes.

Well, here I am again.

Late as usual.

I see there is good news, some not so good and some that needs lots of support, that is well supplied on here.

This blog offers such a huge help when it is needed the most.

Long may it continue.

I had a dear friend aged 100, that I lost two years ago. She had obviously seen a lot of life and shared her wisdom with me regularly.

One of her famous phrases was...

I know Dear, that there are people worse off than me, but, that doesn't make me any better off. She was talking about health not wealth. In fact, she was very comfortably off, but still had to suffer with horrendous brittle bone problems.

Yet, she did her best to remain cheerful and in return, was rewarded by having some lovely friends that rallied round to help make life as easy as it could be for her.

So, I love coming on here and reading how much warmth is generated by people who have never met, yet are genuinely concerned about the well being of one another.

Am I rambling??

I expect so. Way too much sun again today and a rather generous helping of jalapenos on the bogof pizza.

I cant do the individual post thingy, but wish everyone well.

I really believe that you should continue to be here... this is such a hugely supportive community that really does care - and I think you know that. So... don't take any notice... just continue...

On a lighter note... solved the problem of youngest home alone while big bro and me are away... ex-husband - yes I have a load of jobs that need doing... and spare keys...

Also - smelly boozy household about to be fixed tomorrow - arranged engineer to fix boiler in morning... meaning work from home... so I will not be able to follow football, tennis (my favourite) or any sport on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ live text thingy!!! How sad am I???
