Ter get a body like that yer must ave ter spend 2+ 'ours in the gym..

and eat a boring diet... i should know as I see a big resemblance ter meself looking at the front photo....

My fav mag waz Shares mag but they've just given it a make over...

and ruined it!!!! It used ter be great but they've totally destroyed it...

Seriously Christophe, je vous crois...and I think we are all secretly be hoping that just once, there may be something just different enough, to warrant buying yet another one the same...I've just put some old magazines in my car...just about a half hour ago...to take to the surgery on the way home...where I shall probably read the same ones...only slightly older...

And I expect I shall buy some new ones at the airport to read on holiday...as well as trying to read the seat pocket version of Sky-Hi or whatever the present publication showing the same cuddly bears and model aeroplanes that were available last year...although I may purchase a small vial of parfum...if they haven't got a scratch-off panel...

I bought a magazine at the weekend. The fabulous, frivolous, thrilling... Hair. Oooooh the excitement.... But, I did find a style that I liked, and this morning I went out and got my hair cut. And it don't look half bad! Even I might be able to keep it looking halfway decent.

Happy Birthday Jillygoat!!

I'm a real magazine (with a zeeeee) addict. Anything from celeb weeklies, women's weeklies, speshlist muso mags (Classic Rock is a fave as I'm too old for Kerrang! these days), slimming mags that tell you things you know already ... and when I was learning short-hand all them years ago I even subscribed to a short-hand magazine. It had short-hand crosswords in it - they were fun! Oooh - and I subscribe to a country cooking/gardening mag so we can learn what to do with all that stuff off the allotment. Does Private Eye count as a magazine (with a zeeeeeee)? Mr Diva gets that delivered every ish.

I'd be lost without magazines. And we wouldn't have half as much in our recycling bin!!

Nearly at the end of another working day - it's like a tardis in here. I feel like I've only been here an hour or so but its been nearly 8 hours. Shucks!

Dinner tonight is roast chicken with basil and lemonbalm (from the garden - the herbs, not the chicken), with my self invented cubed spud things and some roasty veggies. Delish!

PS: Why do satellite tv channels have so many blinkin' ad breaks, which are twice as long as ads on normal telly and insist on plugging their own flamin' shows every 15 minutes. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Hi CtD: And I remember the shorthand/typing college. I used to throw my bag into the house screaming 'Im not going back there' I eventually got a grip on it, so how can I not learn French??

Ah Christophe Agneau Pie.

Don't start me off on magazines.

These days I only buy the odd one, I'm sick and tired of the spite and bitchiness that accompanies fashion mags these days.

The fashion industry has always been bitchy and ruthless but these days it seems to me they've slumped to a whole new level and frankly, it disgusts me and makes me rather elated I've left it all behind.

I was discussing just this with my lovely bessie mate only last week and she said I should create my own. It will contain only pictures with captions of lovely people, men, women, kids, hey even dogs, cats, ferrets, all shapes and sizes, every colour and age, but the only criteria is that they are real and interesting. I do believe we dress, consciously or otherwise, in a way which expresses our personalities and it's fascinating to observe. Hence my life-long interest in fashion. People on the street are far more interesting than fashion mags.

I'm not meaning stick-insects dressed in designer gear and carrying handbags the size of a sumo wrestler. I mean lovely people in our midst every day. I met a gorgeous one today in a wheelchair who made me laugh like I haven't done for ages; I can't tell you what about but it involved Jaysus and Midnight Mass. He was fab. Also a woman with 6 kids round her who turned out to be her foster kids. She made me fill up, what a heroine. Thank God for people like these, who bloody cares about Paris Hilton's cellulite or Jordan's boobs.

So. CtD. Debbie. And the rest of yous for that matter. Go watch Gok and be thankful yous is glorious.

Ere listen to me. I'll be in the bath later on, starin' at the humungous spot right on the end of me nose and thinkin' I'm a minger.

...and I've been buying Q since year dot. I even had Mother of MfR shipping them out to me in NZ a few years ago.....

..mind you the writing in there isn't quite the same as when a certain Sir Stuart of Maconie was on the payroll.......

Anyhow. As a fully paid up member of the 'CLP Blog Three', I feel it is my duty to liberate a beer from the fridge.....

Wot a lot of posts and new people since I was last visiting. I've been stuck in every M6 traffic jam our Sal has been telling us about - so working lots to catch up and missed checking on the blog. Good to see Bingo is back! (Sounding so slinky too with the weight loss!)

Just bin 'n' bought a hair mag to take to the hairdressers on Saturday. Will show him the photos of the hairstyle I want - when he has finished laughing and picked himself off the floor, he'll cut my hair and I will leave with exactly the same style as usual. Why do I do it...........I'm a fool who keeps dreaming!! I think i'm a frustrated Farrah Fawcett Majors ( slightly younger version).

Wimmins minute - Midge Ure, avec hair, one hell of a first poster to have on the wall!! God it takes me back.........I thought it made me more sophisticated than your average 12 year old. Wanted to grow up faster then...........complete opposite of now.

Debbie lovely, I suffered really badly with anxiety after wee man was born and it does get better but it takes time, I was prescribed medication, which despite my initial reservations (huge ones!) they really did help I also had some sessions with a nice lady who taught me to relax by concentrating on relaxing one part of you at a time, bless you hon, youll get there.

Did anyone else in the sussex area get thunder and lightning (very very frightning) last night?

Was all safely tucked up in bed at 11.30pm, eyes closed, when huge blue flash made me open eyes wide thinking, "was that...." CRACK BOOOOOOMMMMMM

Blimey was wide awake again then. Am shattered this morning, although I am pretty sure I slept all night through, which is very unusual for me these days.

Roll on November. I shall be able to join Hazel in reading Gin, Sunbathing and You....

Can I but in too? What happened to the blog yesterday then? I miss reading it for one day and it's all gone mad! One liners and people getting stressed. Let's all chill out, the rain is raining and the sky is grey. At least it's hump day!

So magazines - well i have rediscovered them by going to my local library that lend them out for a week at a time.

So once again I can get my hit of film and music mags (if anyone got the Q magazine with Damon on the front can i have it please?) and wedding magazines which not only are samelty cotradict themselves over what is good and not good - if they don't know how am I meant to know?

I used to buy a supermarket magazine nearly every month, mainly for the recipes. Found some brilliant ones, I've tried my hand at icecream (incredible) and chocolate mousse (soooo rich and yummy) and all sorts of other things that are far too sweet for me. Hopefully I'll find some energy again soon and will be able to get baking again, hubby is missing his weekly dose of fresh bread and I feel like I'm missing out on decent food at the moment! Looking forward to making some yummy soup again.

What to do while the rain falls... I'll keep thinking.

I'll be pretty happy if this goes through :O)

I think you'll find that those of us here on this blog who like a bon larf now and again much prefer le Francais a la Rene Artois to Monsieur Sarkozy.

Besides. I well remember my disastrous French lessons at my grammar school back in the days of the French Revolution, when our teacher, a renowned psychopath with a squint ike a basket of whelks and a terrifyingly accurate aim with the board duster used to declare lividly that her cat could speak better french than us lot; it was the embarassing moments that stick in my mind to tis day and render me undyingly fond of le francais.

And who else had a science teacher whose experiments used to fail on a regular and spectacular basis? I bet yous all remember them and therefore have retained some knowledge.

I also remember when I used to teach myself, demonstrating the art of using an industrial overlocker to a bunch of less than riveted students, when I stitched me finger and remained attatched to said machine by said digit until help arrived. I tell you what. None of my students ever had an accident after that, hurrah.

And on that note. Achtung to anyone using a swing-needle embroidery machine. My friend was biting the thread at the back of the thing, having finished her lovely if pointless creation, with her foot still on the control. Yes, it writes itself. 2 hours in casualty followed while she had the needle rempoved from her lip.

Don't talk to me about body-piercin'.
