David Sleight - Audience Council England member, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

David is the Dean of Public Engagement at the University of Lincoln, responsible for ensuring the university's research and teaching fully connects with the understanding and aspirations of the public at local, regional, national and international levels.

He was born and brought up in Lincoln, spent 15 years editing for the Â鶹ԼÅÄ in London and returned to the city in 2000. Living in Lincolnshire has given him an understanding of the diverse rural population across Lincolnshire, and his university role gives him insight into a large student community and their innovative use of the media across various platforms.

David is actively involved in voluntary roles helping develop heritage and cultural activities with organisations such as the Heritage Trust for Lincolnshire (Chair), Grantham's Gravity Fields Festival (Steering Group Member) and East Lindsey District Council's SO Festival (Steering Group Member).
