GOAL - Wales 0-1 Icelandpublished at 29 mins

    Hildur Antonsdottir

Talk about a goal against the run of play!

Wales cannot clear from Saedis Heidarsdottir's cross from the left and, with bodies all over the place in the penalty area, it looks like Hayley Ladd slides the ball into her own net.

But in fact replays show Hildur Antonsdottir got the final touch.

That's harsh on Wales, who have been dominating.

You can see what Wales are doing here. They are pressing high to win the ball in higher areas which is good to see.

It's definitely what they need to do this evening in order to get a goal.

    Wales 0-0 Iceland

Iceland keep taking their goal kicks short and Wales are pressing high to put their opponents under pressure.

Jess Fishlock then gets fouled for the third time in a few minutes - a bit of a clumsy late one on the touchline - and Gemma Grainger is not happy.

I would love to see that [Welsh penalty appeal] again.

The ball is ever so slightly too far ahead for Fishlock, but as it comes back in from Rowe, she [Magnusdottir] does not get contact on the ball, she looks guilty as sin to me.

Fishlock uses her body really well. I think she comes in down the back of the calf.

    It's a shame there's no VAR.

Ceri Holland was a big miss [against Denmark].

She is obviously fantastic going forward, but she really knows her roles and responsibilities without the ball as well.

It's why she's such a consistent pick for Gemma Grainger

Wales are really knocking on the door now. Rachel Rowe clips a cross for Ceri Holland, whose header is saved.

The chances for the home side are piling up.

Should Wales have had a penalty?

Kayleigh Green leads an attack, surging into the Iceland penalty area and crossing for Jess Fishlock, who seems to take a kick to the shin from Selma Sol Magnusdottir and goes down.

The referee waves away Welsh appeals. Had there been VAR, would that have been given?

And now Iceland have their first shot on target but Hlin Eiriksdottir's half-volley is comfortably by Olivia Clark.

Wales are certainly giving this a good go.

Their latest shot comes from Kayleigh Green, who tries her luck with a first-time effort on the run which swerves wide.

So far, so encouraging from the home side.

Good running from Kayleigh Green there.

Rachel Rowe had a good touch, but just needed to open her body the opposite way to what she did to give herself a better chance on goal.

Wales come forward again with Jess Fishlock and Rachel Rowe striding into Iceland's half.

Rowe has another shot but it's blocked. Wales recycle possession and get the ball to Ceri Holland on the right, and she then crosses to Fishlock, who also has a shot blocked.

Gemma Grainger will be happy with what she's seen from Wales so far.

A good start from Wales, we can already see that they're attacking in numbers when they have the ball.

A decent opening for Wales. Ceri Holland plays Kayleigh Green in on the right of Iceland's penalty area, and Green then puts a low cross into Rachel Rowe.

But Rowe's shot is well over. Promising approach play from Wales, though.

A poor clearance from Wales' Hayley Ladd hands possession to Karolína Vilhjalmsdottir, who has Iceland's first shot but it dribbles well wide.

It's been an interesting opening few minutes.

Many of us were expecting Iceland to maybe sit in a low block like they did for lots of that match out in Reykjavik but, actually, they seem to be wanting to counter-attack as well.

Neither side has really settled into the game yet. Wales have probably started slightly better but it's all been a bit scrappy so far, hence all the cold-weather clothing chat.
