How successful are women prime ministers and presidents?
Sri Lanka was the first to elect a woman as leader back in 1960.Ìý India is the latest, although Sonia GandhiÌýis reluctant to take on the top job. In the intervening years scores of women have held the highest political office as presidents or prime ministers. At the last count there were twelve.

And Jenni talks to Britain’s longest serving female MP, Labour’s Gwyneth Dunwoody who’s met many of the world’s great female leaders. Also joining Jenni is Lesley Abdela, who’s just returned from a three month trip to Iraq advising on women, democracy and leadership.
