How powerful are the glossies in garnering women’s votes?

As the election draws closer, the political parties are targeting female voters more methodically than ever, from interviews on daytime TVÌýto internet forums for mothers. And now they are turning to glossy magazines.ÌýThe upcoming edition of Red Magazine features interviews with all three party leaders. So how powerful are the women’s magazines in influencing women voters and have the parties got the right strategy in terms of trying to win the women’s vote?ÌýJane is joined by Sam Baker, EditorÌý in Chief of Red Magazine, Siobhan Kenny, who was responsible for setting up the Government’s non-newsÌý media strategy in 1997 and Amanda Platell, journalist and former Press Secretary for William Hague.
