Ìý Shop Assistants on alert for Sex Offenders Thursday 11 September 2003 Ìý
supermarket
Leaflets handed out in a city centre invite shop assistants to be alert to anyone in their store appearing to target children.

Assistants are advised to trust their instincts and approach suspicious customers who may be talking to youngsters. But is this the right way to deal with the problem of paedophilia?
Author Dave Hill, who has six children, Michelle Elliot from Kidscape and Susan Wildman from Manchester Probation Service who endorsed the leaflet, discuss the impact that these leaflets could have and how concern about child abuse is making some men feel.
