Ìý Professor Sue Lees Wednesday 25 September 2002 Ìý
We were very sad here at Woman's Hour to hear of the death last week of a great friend of the programme and a regular contributor. Someone whose dogged and detailed academic research really did change the world.

Professor Sue Lees was one of the founders of the Women's Studies course at the University of North London.
But she was best known for her work on the way rape victims were treated by the police and the legal system and the extent to which men appeared to be getting away with it.
A new revised edition of her book Carnal Knowledge has just come out. Her publisher Margaret Bluman joins Jenni to talk about the influence Sue's work had.
Carnal Knowledge: Rape on Trial (Revised Edition) by Sue Lees, published by The Women's Press; ISBN: 0704347539
